Hi my name is Jordyn and I have an unhealthy obsession with music festivals.
(Yes hi that is really my name, I run LOAF, nice to meet ya.)
From the lineup announcement that happens in January until it takes place in April I spend my time obsessing about one particular music festival. That particular music festival just so happens to be starting next week, COACHELLA!
I am lucky enough to have been to the festival twice, Weekend 2 2017 and Weekend 1 2018. For everyone that hates on the festival, I have got to say it really is worth the hype. It’s a magical space full of art and music and it’s home to some of the most impressive live performances (and surprises) I have ever seen.
So, to pay tribute to the wonder that is Coachella and to set you up for what is about to happen this year, I wanted to go down memory lane and share with you my favourite moments from Coachella 2018. I’m going to give one memory a day counting down from five and that should lead us in to Coachella 2019 quite nicely.

LOAF’s Top 5 Coachella Moments of 2018
5: Cardi B performing pregnant with Kulture.
Cardi B really had the biggest year of her life last year. She dropped her Grammy award winning album Invasion of Privacy, gave birth to her beautiful daughter Kulture and got married to Migos rapper, Offset. Between her viral videos, reality tv roles and crazy sense of humour Cardi B was easily one of the most entertaining people in the music industry. When I saw her name of the lineup I knew it was going to be a good time and i’ll tell you she did NOT disappoint!
This set was a lot shorter than most and performed in the late afternoon. Surrounded by stripper poles, because of course she would be, Cardi B was on that stage extremely pregnant and still managed to give one of the most fun and entertaining sets of the weekend. It was iconic getting to see her perform this album pregnant and in true Cardi fashion, she played it up, managing to twerk, baby and all.
This was my first Weekend 1 Coachella experience and I had heard about the special guests, but Cardi took it to a whole other level. Because of how very pregnant she was she decided to compensate for her lack of energy with an unreal amount of special guests.
During her set she brought out YG, G Eazy, 21 Savage, Chance the Rapper and Kehlani. I mean C’MON! My little fangirl heart can’t handle that many special guests!
Each artists helped the mumma to be perform, with each bringing their own personality to the set.
With this performance Cardi B proved her status as a top tier act. There is no doubt in her ability to entertain huge audiences and I honestly had so much fun. It was an iconic, full of surprises Weekend 1 set and even more special knowing Kulture was along for the ride.
