This is a story all about how his life got flipped turned upside down and I’d like to take a minute just sit right there I’ll tell you how he became a prince of the town called Coachella.
Australian musician Grey Ghost had the experience of a lifetime last weekend at Coachella.
He managed to sneak in to Kanye West’s Sunday Service as a part of the choir and spent the service standing next to the Kardashians, Justin Bieber and the Smith children, Willow and Jaden.
Here’s a recount of how he managed to achieve such a cheeky yet, incredible feat that every Kanye fan (myself included) is jealous of.
5:30am: Grey Ghost woke up and entered Coachella gates as they opened. He headed straight for the merch tent and purchased the Sunday Service purple track pant and crew set. Unknowingly, this overpriced yet extremely culturally significant track suit would be his greatest purchase and the most important element to his success.
9:00am: Watched the Sunday Service in the Guest area alongside the entire Kardashian family, Jaden and Willow Smith, Justin Bieber and Idris Elba… I’m assuming he already had a guest pass for this area.. Yeah no biggie…
Around 11:30am: After the show had finished security began to push back everyone except the band and choir whose outfits were all pretty much the same as the merch Grey Ghost had conveniently bought. He noticed this and saw an opportunity putting on his outfit right quick and managed to join the choir in what I am imagining as conga line fashion and proceeded to dance to the backstage area as if he was a part of the show. Honestly, just thinking about someone doing this makes me laugh SO MUCH. Werk henny!
Also, I can’t believe no one saw him put the clothes on or stopped him from entering the choir, he looked similar but it was definitely not the same.
Well I’ll tell you what, Jesus must have been with him that day because it bloody worked!! Grey Ghost had infiltrated the Sunday Service back stage area and managed to hang out backstage alongside Chance the Rapper, Kim K and the god himself KANYE WEST!
Despite meeting half of my Instagram feed, Grey Ghost said the highlight of the experience was getting to meet his personal idol and festival headliner Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino.
He hung out and got photos with all of the celebrities as if he was a part of the choir, grabbed a celebratory champagne and bagel then “peaced the f*** out”.
